International Training Programme – Disaster Risk Management
Managing and reducing disaster risk is central for saving lives, assets, livelihoods and ensuring sustainable development. This six-year training programme was implemented between 2018 and 2024, and has since supported 173 disaster risk management professionals and their organizations in various change processes.
The aim of the International Training Programme in Disaster Risk Management, ITP DRM for short, was to strengthen the capacity of individuals in key positions and their organisations to manage disaster risks more efficiently, through supporting participants in designing and implementing change processes. Gender, diversity and environment are core thematic areas for MSB as it is essential for sustainable development, and thus also integrated throughout the ITP DRM.
By inviting organisations from different sectors to apply to the programme, the participants were given the opportunity to expand their networks with other relevant actors and stakeholders in disaster risk management.
